Balance of State Continuum of Care

Boone County is one of 101 counties covered by the Balance of State Continuum of Care (CoC). A Continuum of Care is a geographical area established and funded by HUD that coordinates housing and funding for people experiencing homelessness.

Types of
Homelessness

There are four main types of homelessness - Hidden, Transitional, Episodic, and Chronic. HUD also has a very specific definition for Literally Homeless. And the McKinney Vento Act broadens that definition for youth experiencing homelessness.
